The Yogyakarta\u00a0<em>gamelan kodhok ngor\u00e8k<\/em>\u00a0includes four such\u00a0<em>bonang<\/em>s, one of them, called\u00a0<em>setren<\/em>\u00a0or female, is tuned an octave lower than the other three of the\u00a0<em>jaler<\/em>, or male, type kettles. These\u00a0<em>bonang<\/em>\u00a0are struck with a pair of thinly padded stick beaters held in the hands of the performers, of which there are two per instrument. While the\u00a0<em>bonang setren<\/em>\u00a0and two of the\u00a0<em>bonang jaler<\/em>\u00a0each have four gongs tuned to one note (<em>sl\u00e9ndro<\/em>\u00a0pitch 3) and four others to another note (<em>sl\u00e9ndro<\/em>\u00a0pitch 5), the third\u00a0<em>bonang jaler<\/em>, sometimes referred to as\u00a0<em>kl\u00e9nang<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0<em>eneng-eneng<\/em>, has all eight gongs tuned to the same note (<em>sl\u00e9ndro<\/em>\u00a0pitch 6).<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_424\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-424\" style=\"width: 227px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/vetter.sites.grinnell.edu\/gamelan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IMGA0884.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-1\" data-rl_title=\"Bonang kodhok ngor\u00e8k setren of the gamelan K.K.
