A pair of bronze dome-shaped percussion cymbals found in a few palace archaic gamelans. Each cymbal is hung by a rope one end of which passes through a hole in the apex of the cymbal and is back-knotted, the other end of the rope is attached to a wood rack (gayor). The cymbals are suspended just above the floor, overlapping one another, and are struck simultaneously by the performer with a hammer-shaped wooden beater. A bright metallic sound rich in overtones is produced. Found in only a few archaic palace gamelans.
